In this globalizing world with shrinking boundaries both India and Germany recognize the significant role of the small and medium enterprises in furthering the trade, investment and technology links and agree to facilitate the linkages between the two countries. To second this, on 9th September 2008 a Joint Declaration was signed between Ministry of Commerce & Industry Government of India and Federal Republic of Economics and Technology Germany, where they expressed their common aspiration to foster economic cooperation between the two countries by implementing a bilateral training programme for Indian Executives and Managers. FICCI, CII and InWEnt Capacity Building International Germany organized 1st Indo-German Managers Training Programme (IGMTP) in October-November 2009 for 21 Senior & Middle level SMEs managers. Till now more than 75 companies from India have benefitted from this Manager Training Programme by
- Enhanced administrative, social, intercultural and professional competencies of Indian managers
- Improved competitiveness of the enterprises participating in the project
- Enhanced foreign economic potential of Indian enterprises by establishing contacts with German enterprises
- And raised attractiveness of the selected enterprises to foreign investors
